Oh boy! Oh gee! Gosh golly! I love this topic so much. If you attended my first-ever neuroscience class at The Clever Bean, you will remember the wondrous multi-hour tangent I spent on psychedelics (LSD, magic mushrooms, DMT, ayahuasca, etc).
All previous substances addressed in Drug Month have addictive potential. This week we will be breaking the mold. Not only are psychedelics not additive, but they actually have remarkable ANTI-addictive properties. (Based on current research, psychedelics are the single most effective tool we have for fighting addiction.)
Not only that, but psychedelics provide a way to tap into potential useful modes of thought that are typically inaccessible for the vast majority of people the vast majority of the time. What precisely do such substances do to the brain? You are going to find out! Perhaps the hippies were onto something…
Nothing we take into our bodies comes without risk, not even water, and not psychedelics. In addition to discussing the benefits (both real and potential) of psychedelics, we will also address potential risks.
I may also have some really great stories, which, if any members of law enforcement are reading this, does not imply in any way that I have engaged in any illegal activity ever. I am pure as the driven snow.
Each session includes time for questions. I look forward to seeing you!
