The Spectacular Senses: Sight (Online Only)
August 8, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pmFree
Strangely enough, not all of your brain is buried safely inside your skull. Your eyes are actually considered brain tissue, the only part of your brain open to the outside world!
Although vision is perhaps the most complex of our senses, it is also the most well studied. Because of this, more of my academic training was spent on the eyeball alone than on almost any other part of the nervous system.
In this session, we will discover the wonders of visual perception, from the eyes in the front to the occipital lobe in the back, and everything in between. We will learn what optical illusions can teach us about the neural correlates underlying our vision, and why we see things the way we do (literally, not figuratively).
Each session includes time for questions. All sessions are free. I look forward to seeing you!
